The Modesto Bee is looking for awesome holiday lights displays around the Northern San Joaquin Valley. If your house is lit to the rafters, or your lawn is a wonderland of light-up figures, we invite you to submit a photo of your holiday masterpiece in our contest.
You take a picture of your display and upload it electronically to the contest. Readers who register to vote will be able to rate your display. The highest rated display will be declared the winner.
Anyone who lives in the Modesto Bee's circulation area may enter -- that's Stanislaus, San Joaquin, Merced or Tuolumne counties. You don't need to subscribe to the newspaper, but you do need to register for the contest in order to enter or to vote.
Yes - but only if the owner or tenant gives you permission. For example, you brother-in-law may have a Clark Griswold-caliber light display but doesn't have a digital camera. You can take the photo on his behalf and enter it.
Sure -- as long as everyone agrees. If not, take a photo of only those homes that want to participate.
As long as you're 13 years or older, you can vote - regardless of where you live.
Yes. The most popular entry - and quite likely a few others - will be featured in The Modesto Bee when we unveil our list of greatly lit holiday homes on Dec. 12.
