Welcome to The Modesto Bee Cute & Crazy Cats contest, where we're looking for photos of, well, cute and crazy cats.
First, arrange to get your cat or kitten to stay still long enough to snap her picture. Then click the tab that says says "Submit Your Cat" and upload the photo.
You may enter up to three photos. The photos will go into a gallery where cat lovers in the Modesto area will vote for their favorite. Voting opens Sunday, and each registered user can vote once each day.
By submitting a photo you give The Modesto Bee and modbee.com permission to publish the photo in print and online. We hope to feature a few of the photos in the paper to encourage people to vote.
Before you can upload a photo or vote for any of the cats, you need to register for the contest. It takes only a minute or two - about the time it takes to open a tin of cat food.
Don't worry - we're not going to divulge your information. You don't have to worry about getting spammed with offers for cat toys.
You have our sympathy. And yes, you can enter photos of multiple cats in the contest, as long as they live in your household or at least consider your home as base camp for their feline adventures.
Yes. The cat voted the favorite will be declared the winner, and Kitty will get his or her picture published in The Modesto Bee. We'll also give the cat's owner a $25 gift certificate to a pet store to be determined.
Sorry, no burgers are involved in this contest.
