Voting ended at 5 p.m. Friday. The results will be tabulated and the winners will be contacted next week before the results are made public.
How does the contest work?
It's easy! Snap an awesome photo of your pet and upload it on the "Submit an Entry" page.
Get your family and friends to vote, look at other people's pets, and vote for your favorite!
Are there prizes?
Yes! We've got great prizes. The owners of the first-place pets will each receive a $25 credit voucher to use in The Modesto Bee dealsaver.com program. There will be three first-place awards, one each for the cat, dog and other animal (bird, hamster, horse, etc.) to receive the most votes among its own kind.
There will be three second-place prizes of $15 in dealsaver credit, again for the top vote-getting dog, cat and other animal.
There will be three third-place prizes of $10 in dealsaver credit, one for the top dog, cat and other animal.
Any tips on how to increase my chances of winning something?
First, get yourself a cute pet. And if you're reading this, chances are you already have a cute pet. So make sure you get a nice, clear picture of your animal to upload to the contest. Then, spread the word about your pet being in the contest. Encourage your friends to vote for your pet. If you have a Facebook page or Twitter account, let your followers know about the contest and your pet's entry.
How often can I vote?
Every registered user may cast one vote per day. The more you vote, the better your pet's chances are of winning.
