The Gallo Center and The Modesto Bee are sponsoring a contest in which Modesto-area acoustic acts will vie for the chance to be the warmup act for the 3 Doors Down concert at 7 p.m. on Aug. 30. To enter the contest, first register with UPickem, then submit your 60-second (maximum) acoustic audition video by clicking on the "Enter your video" tab. Original material is strongly encouraged.
Contestants may upload their videos between July 14-28. The public will vote on their audition clips from July 29-Aug. 14. The results of the vote will be sent to the Gallo Center, which will make the final determination of who performs a roughly 20-minute set at the center’s Mary Stuart Rogers theater on Aug. 30.
To be eligible, the singer, musician or band must be an acoustic act based in The Bee’s readership area, which includes Stanislaus, Merced, San Joaquin and Tuolumne counties.
